EAST MEADOW KIWANIS CLUB RAISE FUNDS TO REFURBISH PEDIATRIC UNIT PLAYROOM AT NASSAU UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER

Dr. Stephen Perrick immediate past president of the East Meadow Kiwanis Club presented a $6000. check to the Nassau University Medical Center Kiwanis Club president, Linda Walsh, CTRS and the NUMC pediatrics unit staff to refurbish one of the playrooms on the 18th floor pediatrics unit.

Arthur A. Gianelli, president/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation expressed his gratitude to the members of Kiwanis for their generosity: “On behalf of the staff and patients of Nassau University Medical Center, I would like to thank all the East Meadow Kiwanis Club members for being so generous and thoughtful in raising the funds needed to renovate the NUMC pediatrics unit playroom. The $6000. that you have raised, will be used to purchase new carpeting and furniture, recreational equipment, and video arcade games, all for the benefit and enjoyment of our patients in the pediatrics unit.”

It is anticipated that the room will be completely refurbished and dedicated in the Kiwanis name in January 2008.
