DINA LIESER, MD, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY PEDIATRICS AT NUMC, RECEIVES SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS

 

 

East Meadow, NY……….Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth’s President/CEO, announces that Dina Lieser, MD, director of community pediatrics at the Nassau University Medical Center, has received a Special Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

“We are proud that Dr Lieser has received the Special Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, in recognition of her ongoing and energetic work to create understanding and true partnerships between pediatricians and the child care community that serve children and their families. It is gratifying for me as a CEO to be able to have accomplishments such as Dr. Lieser’s to recognize and applaud.”

 

Dr. Dina Lieser is director of community pediatrics at NUMC and also co-director of Docs for Tots. Dr. Lieser serves on numerous committees to promote the integration of health, education and social support for families in the earliest years of life. She is a member of the NY State Early Childhood Advisory Committee where she co-chairs the Promoting Healthy Development Workgroup. As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Lieser holds a number of positions including chair of the Council on Early Childhood. Dr. Lieser has written multiple issue briefs and articles on the health benefits of early childhood initiatives, the early childhood medial home, and early childhood mental health. She has spoken in major national and state conferences and webinars around these issues. Dr. Lieser attended New York University School of Medicine followed by a residency in pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Cornell Medical Center.

 

David Fagan, MD, chair of pediatrics at NUMC, joined Dr. Politi in extending his congratulations to Dr. Lieser: “The AAP’s recognition of Dr. Lieser’s commitment to promoting the importance of a healthy early childhood for future health outcomes benefits not only for our patients at NUMC but for all children.”
