DAVID S. ROSENTHAL, MD, FACP, FACE, NUHEALTH’S ENDOCRINOLOGIST, TO PRESENT AT NEW ENGLAND THYROID CLUB ON ISSUE OF RADIOIODINE SAFETY GUIDELINE

EAST MEADOW, NY…David S. Rosenthal, MD, FACP, FACE, attending endocrinologist in NuHealth’s division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, will present a program on Radioiodine Safety Guideline at the New England Thyroid Club on April 27, 2012 in Framingham, MA.

The Division of Endocrinology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, accredited by the ACGME to provide continuing medical education for physicians, has designed a program that provides updates on a wide range of topics related to the management of thyroid disorders. Faculty will use didactic and case presentations. Each presentation will be facilitated by an endocrinologist or endocrine surgeon whose mission it will be to engage the audience in discussion and keep the discussion focused on issues related to the management of thyroid disorders.

“I am honored to have been invited to present at the New England Thyroid Club conference and look forward to discussing how to quantify and minimize the risks of radioiodine therapy, an issue related to the management of thyroid disorders,” stated Dr. Rosenthal.

Upon Dr. Rosenthal’s return to Long Island in 1972, after serving as a Major in the United States Air Force Hospitals in Illinois and Thailand, he joined Island Medical Group, PC, in the private referral practice of Endocrinology in Bethpage and later in Massapequa.  At that time, he also joined the voluntary attending staff at NUMC in the Endocrinology Division and became actively involved in the NUMC fellowship teaching program.  In 2006, he left private practice to devote all his professional time to NUMC as an attending physician.  His appointment at SUNY Stony Brook as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine has been continuous since 1972.

Dr. Rosenthal attended medical school at New York University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall US Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.  His fellowship in the field of Endocrinology, Metabolism, Diabetes and Nuclear Medicine was done at Boston University Medical Center.  Dr. Rosenthal is dually board certified on Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology/Metabolism.
