East Meadow, NY…..Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH), effective as of July 1st, 2009.
“I am honored and privileged to have been elected to the NAPH Executive Committee, representing safety-net hospitals before Congress and the Administration, especially as we move towards health care reform, and where we can continue the public hospitals’ long tradition of quality and service to the community, by delivering care to America’s growing number of working uninsured families, providing world-class trauma and emergency care, preparing for and responding to the threat of terrorism, epidemics and natural disasters, and training the next generation of doctors, nurses and dentists,” said Gianelli.
The Executive Committee is responsible for the management, the development and the effective performance of the Board and provides leadership to the Board for all aspects of the Board’s work. The Executive Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the NAPH Executive Director and to other officers in all matters concerning the interests and management of the NAPH and, in consultation with the Executive Director, plays a role in the Association’s external relationships. When these groups are not in session, the Executive Committee’s duties often include acting as the chief representatives for safety-net hospitals and health systems in Washington before Congress and the Administration.
