ALMOST FULL OCCUPANCY LEVELS HAVE NOT BEEN EXPERIENCED SINCE EARLY 1990’S, SIGNALING IMPRESSIVE TURN-AROUND OF SKILLED NURSING FACILITY SERVING A VULNERABLE POPULATION OF 589 ELDERLY, FRAIL AND CHRONICALLY ILL IN NASSAU COUNTY
East Meadow, NY…..Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, announced that in 2008, the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, had experienced occupancy levels of 99%, unheard of at that institution since the early 1990’s and signaling the impressive turn around of the Nassau Health Care Corporation’s skilled nursing facility that serves a vulnerable population of 589 Nassau elderly, frail and chronically ill residents.
“I am most impressed by the turn-around of the AHP facility and its almost full occupancy levels in 2008, resulting from a commitment by its dedicated staff to improved quality of care for its 589 residents as demonstrated by a recent deficient-free survey, effective leadership by experienced nursing home executive, Senior Vice President Larry Slatky and the on-going support by our federal, state and local officials.
Larry Slatky, SVP for AHP, whose leadership was instrumental in maintaining almost full occupancy levels in 2008 said: “The real pleasure has been working with staff members who care about quality outcomes and joined together to make it happen and the residents who appreciate where we were, where we are and have voiced their appreciation for the changes that have been implemented.”
