ANTHONY J. RESTAINO APPOINTED ADMINISTRATOR OF THE A. HOLLY PATTERSON EXTENDED CARE FACILITY
Extensive experience as a licensed nursing home administrator with impressive knowledge of all aspects of nursing home day-to-day operations
East Meadow, NY – Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation announced the appointment of Anthony J. Restaino as the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility (AHP) Administrator, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 589 bed nursing home.
“I am delighted that we were successful in recruiting someone with Tony Restaino’s leadership qualities and extensive experience in nursing homes during the last 25 years, responsible for all aspects of nursing home operations, including collective bargaining, financial and regulatory compliance,” stated Gianelli. “He will continue to strive to maintain the excellence achieved under the leadership of Larry Slatky, senior vice president for AHP and we are indeed grateful and fortunate that Slatky has dedicated himself to the success of AHP and will now concentrate on replicating that success within the rest of our health care system.”
Most recently, AHP received a top rating of five out of five stars in overall measures from the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, a significant accomplishment reflecting the NHCC’s commitment to superior quality of care. Located in a 63-acre campus in Uniondale, AHP is a skilled nursing facility where the skilled and caring health care professionals respond to the physical, social and emotional needs of each resident. On-site services include: rehabilitation services, diagnostic and radiology services, psychiatric care, psychotherapy, dental and ophthalmology care, podiatry services, cardiology evaluations and treatment and neurological testing.
Among the highly specialized units that make the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility such an outstanding center are: secure dementia units, hospice care and the respiratory care unit, ventilator unit with 24-hour respiratory therapists, the wound care unit, the sub-acute rehabilitation unit and HIV/AIDS unit. AHP is nationally recognized for excellence in areas including: wound care, Alzheimer’s, pulmonary diseases and dementia.

Anthony J. Restaino began his nursing home career in 1983 at Hillside Manor HRF, a 400 bed skilled nursing facility in Queens, New York, where he became assistant administrator in 1986. He further pursued the profession of long term care, and became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1988. After working as an assistant administrator for five years, Mr. Restaino was appointed administrator at Little Neck Nursing Home in 1993. Within two years, Mr. Restaino led the facility to its first ever deficiency-free survey. Thereafter, Mr. Restaino has made a positive impact upon all of the facilities in which he has worked as Administrator. Mr. Restaino is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators, which he joined in 1989. He has been co-chairperson of the convention committee for over twenty years and sits on the national board of directors of the college as the current president of the New York chapter. Mr. Restaino holds a Bachelors Degree in English which he obtained in 1983 from Queens College.
