Specialized Procedures

NuHealth’s eye care specialists have access to sophisticated technologies to help diagnose and treat specific eye conditions, including:

  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to help evaluate all structures of the eye, from the cornea to the choroid in microscopic detail
  • Argon and Micropulse Laser brand new, state-of-the-art laser for treatment of retinal pathology and glaucoma
  • Corneal Topography detail the external shape of the cornea allowing more accurate evaluation and treatment
  • Digital Fluorescein Angiography to help diagnose and evaluate retinal diseases more efficiently
  • YAG Laser for the treatment of patients at risk for narrow angle glaucoma and post cataract opacities
  • Ocular Ultrasound to examine the back of the eye in patients whose eyes are swollen shut or who have cloudy ocular media, such as cataracts, corneal clouding, or blood inside the eye
  • Fundus Autofluorescence used to evaluate the retina for specific types of pathology
  • Tear Osmolarity Testing useful in diagnosing different causes of dry eye
  • Humphrey Visual Field Testing to help specifically characterize a potential defect in a particular region of vision
  • Full Hospital Laboratory at NuHealth Eye Center our physicians have the ability to perform special cultures, blood work, and viral testing all without leaving the building
