AAO eBooks – the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) eBooks collection is accessible via EbscoHOST platform and provides access to the most comprehensive electronic reference library from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. It includes Focal Points Collection, Basic and Clinical Science Course Collection (BCSC), and Basic Principles of Ophthalmic Surgery. When accessing from within NuHealth, please click on the hyperlinked title and then choose the eBooks Tab in the upper left corner for AAO collection and then “Health & Medicine” Tab on the left. When logging in remotely via EZ proxy, please obtain first your credentials from the Medical Librarian/NUMC Library.

ADA eBooks Collection – American Diabetes Association (ADA) publications via Impelsys iPublish Central platform help healthcare professionals learn, train, and keep on top of the fight to Stop Diabetes and its deadly consequences and fighting for those affected by diabetes. BoardVitals – This institutional subscription from BoardVitals helps with the board preparation process by providing high quality, high-yield, and vetted questions via various question banks for 40+ specialties. Most of the current GME programs and their subject-related content are covered: Cardiology, Child Psychiatry, Dental Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hem/Onc, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Ob-Gyn, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Critical Care, Radiology, Rheumatology, and Surgery. The subscription includes detailed, up-to-date explanations, related references for both trainees and faculty, and helps to maximize the study time, monitor usage, and track performance, with allowing for each user’s personalized experience, for both Board Prep and the Maintenance of Certification. Please register and use the database when on premises, under the NUMC IP-controlled environment. If you’d like to create a supervised residency/fellowship program-specific group with a proctor, such as your Program Director and/or Board Prep Attending-In-Charge, please let the Medical Librarian know in order to assist you with contacting the vendor to organize a study group/curriculum by submitting the names and email addresses of future participants.

BrowZine from Third Iron – This application helps you to stay current with your specialty by fast browsing and current awareness of scholarly literature. BrowZine app allows you to browse, read, and download articles, with keeping track of your favorite journals, both in-house and off-site. In order to use the personalization feature of My Bookshelf and My Articles and curate a custom reading list from many available titles, you would need to create a BrowZine account. It will allow for synchronization and backing-up of your data across all used devices.

CardioSourcePlus – This database (CSP) from the American College of Cardiologists (ACC) via OVID Platform provides access to digital tools and resources that will help to succeed in both your training and professional career. With benefits available in a variety of formats, the ACC is there to help to overcome challenges on both the clinical and business side of medicine wherever and whenever you need it. CardioSourcePlus requires both IP and a personal ACC membership login for access. Please make sure you use your existing AAC membership credentials for access or register for the ACC membership credentials if you never had it.

CINAHL – The Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, this database provides indexing for more than 3,075 nursing and allied health journals and publications. Literature covers a wide range of topics including nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines.

Clinical Key – The database delivers all of Elsevier’s medical and surgical content in one dynamic resource, giving physicians access to over 1,040 top books and over 575 top journals, thousands of videos and millions of images. With Smart Content built on Elsevier’s proprietary taxonomy, physicians get faster, more clinically relevant answers with every search, for less time looking and more time caring for patients.

DynaMed – new for NUMC/NuHealth Point-of-Care (POC) Knowledge Based Information (KBI) resource replacing UpToDate as of July 1, 2023. LGBTQ+ Source Database via EbscoHOST (provided through the courtesy of LILRC) – LGBTQ+ Source Database provides full-text coverage for the most important and historically significant literature on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. In addition, this resource provides indexing and abstracts for hundreds of journals, books, newspapers and reference works.  This database can help support diversity and inclusion within your institution as encouraged by both The Joint Commission and the American Medical Association.

PsychiatryOnline – A web-based portal that features DSM® library titles, psychiatric journals and textbooks from American Psychiatric Publishing. This is also a resource for the Psychiatry Resident-in-Training® Examination (PRITE®) and the Psychiatrists In-Practice Examination® (PIPE®) by The American College of Psychiatrists®.

PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, PsycTESTS – from APA on EBSCOhost platform. The PsycINFO® database is renowned resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, and is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. PsycARTICLES® is a definitive source of full text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. It contains more than 153,000 articles from nearly 80 journals published by the American Psychological Association (APA). Coverage spans 1894 to the present and nearly all APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1. PsycTESTS® serves as a repository for a growing selection of psychological tests and measures, including thousands of actual test instruments and test items that are available for immediate download and use in research and teaching. International in scope, the database also provides access to an increasing number of tests that are available in languages other than English.

PubMed – Search the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE and other databases from NLM/NIH with option of linking to library-subscribed online resources via Outside Tool and placing Inter-Library Loan requests for non-subscribed publications.

Red Book Online from the American Academy of Pediatrics -Provides today’s most reliable and clinically useful information on the manifestations, etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of some 200 childhood infectious diseases. Red Book® Online is the online home of the report of the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases.

Stahl Online – a comprehensive and regularly updated eResource from Cambridge University Press that provides full access to the entire current Cambridge portfolio of neuropsychopharmacology books by Dr. Stahl: The Prescriber’s Guide, Stahl’s Essential Psychopharmacology, Stahl’s Self-Assessment Examination in Psychiatry, Case Studies, etc. Practical and fully searchable knowledge-based set includes both prescribing information for physicians and patient guidance materials for their patients.

Stedman’s Online: Abbreviations, Acronyms & Symbols – a resource that contains thousands of abbreviation and all of the expansions of that abbreviation. This online resource meets the JCAHO requirement for hospitals to have an approved abbreviations list. The content for the Stedman’s Online product is from the 6th edition of the print title.

MedlinePlus – This premier patient information database will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations.
