At the Nassau Health Care Corporation, volunteers make a real difference because they become an integral part of the NHCC family through a carefully designed program of service that allows them to perform many hours of assistance in carefully selected areas. Every time a volunteer steps through our doors, he or she makes a difference by donating time, energy and talents to the Hospital and the patients we serve. Why become a volunteer?

As a volunteer you will play a vital role in helping us serve the healthcare needs of our community. Volunteering allows you to be of service to the community, neighbors and friends. You will meet new people, develop new skills and interests and possibly explore career opportunities. Our volunteers give that special touch and whether you have direct patient contact or work “behind the scenes” every volunteer is an important member of the hospital’s health care team. The opportunities are rewarding, enjoyable and a great way to meet new people.

Adult Volunteer Application

HIGH SCHOOL Student Volunteer Program (COLLEGE STUDENTS PLEASE COMPLETE THE ADULT APPLICATION ABOVE)

Student Volunteers perform a variety of tasks that include filing, running errands, answering phones, and assisting with mailings. A wide variety of opportunities are available.

The Nassau Health Care Corporation continues to participate with the public and private schools in the area in providing a safe and productive environment for students to explore their interests in the health field and perform community service.

Students Volunteers have varied requirements including:

     • Medical clearance and immunization records
     • High School Student- 14+
     • Working papers
     • A letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
     • Be interviewed and complete two orientation sessions

ALL INFROMATION NEEDED TO APPLY TO THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PROGRAM IS PROVIDED IN THE APPLICATION BELOW. PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED STARTING FEB 2010.

DO TO A TRASITION IN THE VOLUNTEER SERVICES DEPARTMENT THE SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM MAY OR MAY NOT RUN- HOWEVER, STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS. MORE INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
