Physics

NuHealth’s physicists provide direct support to the clinical radiology services within Nassau University Medical Center. In addition to overseeing all radioactive materials and monitoring x-ray radiation safety programs for the entire medical center, NuHealth’s physicists ensure that our patients receive precisely-calibrated doses of diagnostic and therapeutic radiation with the least long-term risk.

The Physics Division at Nassau University Medical Center utilizes powerful software and computer hardware to aid data acquisition and analysis of nuclear medicine studies, as well as determine patient-specific doses of therapeutic radioactive materials in NuHealth’s Division of Radiation Oncology.

The physicists are available for any questions patients and staff may have regarding radiation exposure and risk.
