It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Division of Dental Medicine and the General Practice Residency Program. This site outlines the key activities of the training program in the areas of clinical dentistry, dental education, and interactions with the wider University and professional community.

The mission of the General Practice Residency is to educate and prepare dentists for careers in a diverse and changing health care environment. Implicit in this mission is a commitment to educate the student and provide an outstanding clinical experience. The Department of Dental Medicine also renders routine and emergency dental care to the community and supports the patient population within the hospital.

Our curriculum reflects the core values of the profession in private and public health care settings. The program is committed to creating a humanistic, educational environment that will facilitate the development of responsible and ethical oral health professionals who provide excellent dental care and are sensitive to patients' needs.

Our faculty provides educational and clinical instruction in all dental disciplines. The program strives to produce graduates who will advance the profession of dentistry and improve dental health care through clinical care and scholarly activities. Graduates will have the skills of self-assessment and scientific methodology that ensure lifelong learning.
