2008 Nassau Health Care Corporation's Golf and Casino Night
In an overwhelming show of support, over two hundred persons attended the Nassau Health Care Corporation's Golf and Casino Night on Monday, June 2nd at the Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, New York. The event raised over $90,000. to benefit the Long Island Medical Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, comprised of Nassau University Medical Center, A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale and the various Community Health Centers located throughout Nassau County. Chaired by Kevin Dahill, Executive Director of the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council, The honorees of this year's event were Lyn Weiss, MD, Chair of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at NUMC and Michael Barnett, Esq., President and Managing partner, Barnett, Edelstein, Gross, Kass & Lieber, PC.

"I was delighted with the incredible outpouring of support for our safety net healthcare system," said Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation. "This year's honorees and committee members should be recognized for their hard work in providing a fun-filled golf outing and casino night and helping to raise funds to support our mission."

2007 Heroes In Health Gala
Presented by the NUMC Auxiliary on behalf of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, a portion of the proceeds from the “Heroes in Health Gala” will benefit NUMC’s new Center for Hypertension, Diabetes and Vascular Disease. All but $75 for each ticket is tax deductible. Contributions are fully tax deductible.

The mission of The Center for Hypertension, Diabetes and Vascular Disease (CHDVD) is to advance the care of Nassau County residents, particularly the medically underserved and uninsured, that suffer from the intertwined epidemics of hypertension, diabetes and vascular disease that exist in our communities. This will be done through a combination of outreach, education and clinical care.
