Child Development Center
The Child Development Center at the Nassau University
Medical Center offers both diagnostic and treatment
services for children with physical, developmental,
learning and behavioral disabilities, ranging from
the newborn through adolescence.
Our group of subspecialists works with parents,
teachers and community agencies to develop a personal
care plan to meet each child's needs.
The Child Development Center at Nassau University
Medical Center is the newest and most comprehensive
facility of its type in the tri-state area.
Here, you will find a full range of diagnostic services
and treatment for hyperactivity, attention deficit,
learning, language and behavior problems as well
as physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy
or Spina Bifida.
You'll also find some of the regions top specialists
in pediatric medicine, speech/language therapy and
psychology. Working closely with parents, teachers
and community agencies, they carefully tailor each
child's program to his or her unique needs.
We provide a supportive, loving environment for
newborns through adolescents. Major insurance plans
and Medicaid are accepted, and our staff is multilingual.

The Children of the Child Development Center
CDC children are unique individuals with very special
needs, including:
- The infant at risk for neurological, developmental
and behavioral problems
- The preschool child with a developmental delay or
disability which affects adjustment
- The child with physical disabilities and/or neuromuscular
disorders
- The child with a learning disability and/or attention
deficit/hyperactivity disorder

- Early intervention, diagnosis and treatment of the
infant and preschooler
- Comprehensive care program for the child with a
physical handicap, such as Cerebral Palsy or Spina

for Nassau and Suffolk counties
- Evaluation and treatment of learning, language and
behavior disorders
