Julie L. Mirkin, MA RN is currently the Senior Vice President of Patient Care services at the Nassau Health Care Corporation. In her role as the Senior Vice President, she is responsible for all Departments throughout the corporation that provide patient care, which includes, but is not limited to Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, Lab, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Services, Peri-Operative Services, Case Management, Cardiac Diagnostics, Women’s Health Center and Psychiatry.

Prior to working at the Nassau Health Care Corporation, Mrs. Mirkin was the VP for Patient Care Services at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, in Far Rockaway for eight years. She was recruited to St. John’s to assist them with implementing significant clinical improvements and responsible for a successful financial turnaround of the organization.

Mrs. Mirkin started her career at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset as a new graduate in 1980 and worked her way up the ladder to success implementing many initiatives such as Clinical Pathways (or Care MAPs), redesign of the Care Coordination Model, Shared Governance Models and quality and performance improvement processes that are still utilized by the system today.

Mrs. Mirkin has lectured and consulted extensively on the National level on the topics of Leadership, Management/Labor Relations, Case Management, and Nurse Staffing Ratios.

Mrs. Mirkin received her Bachelors in Nursing from SUNY at Stony Brook and her Masters in Nursing, Executive Role from Columbia University, Teachers College.
