Help for Haiti
It’s been more than two weeks since Haiti was torn apart by the January 12 earthquake. We at NuHealth are doing everything we can to aid the victims in their time of need, and our thoughts go out to all of our Haitian employees and patients as the quest to secure their friends and loved ones continues.
- Dispatched a pediatrician, trauma surgeon and nurse practitioner, along with medical supplies, to aid in relief efforts
- Encouraged and coordinated financial donations
- Held a memorial interfaith “Unity Is Strength” service on January 20
- Donated goods which have been distributed by the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (www.amheny.org)
- Offered counseling and support through our chaplaincy program and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health
What We’ve Done
- Dispatching two more doctors to Haiti from our Emergency Department
- Dispatching our CIO—a ham radio operator who will help coordinate communications on the island
- Continuing to offer counseling through our chaplain’s office
