CLERK-TYPIST – Bilingual English/Spanish to handle routine clerical work as well as:

•type reports, letters, schedules, memoranda, and forms
•perform routine filing and answer correspondence
•operate a PC computer and copying machines
•act as receptionist, give information, and explain well-defined rules
•proofread applications, letters, and documents for typos
•perform above-described duties in Spanish and English

Must possess HS diploma, two years of satisfactory clerical and typing experience strongly preferred.


ADMISSIONS OFFICER– Bilingual English/Spanish

Bilingual Admissions Officer to screen admissions, interview patients, verify/enter insurance information and educate patients on hospital regulations.

•Screen  admissions, interview patients or families to obtain demographic and insurance data
•Schedule appointments, greets and registers patients, verifies and/or obtains necessary referrals and authorizations and enters authorization numbers
•Verify insurance and enter information accurately into the registration system
•Screen patients for eligibility for health insurance plans, obtain required documentation from patient and/or family member/patient representative, and submit insurance applications
•Ensure that patients complete and sign all required forms and receive all required documentation
•Explain  hospital regulations, assign patients to appropriate beds, based on admissions order
•Receive and process birth notices and death notices; secures autopsy permission; make arrangements to release bodies
•Take census of patients admitted and discharged

We require:
HS Diploma with minimum two years of office experience in a healthcare facility or hospital  NOTE: Education at an accredited or NYS registered college or university (30 credits) may be substituted for one year of the above-mentioned experience.

Must also possess:
•Knowledge of hospital admission policies and procedures and emergency procedures
•Ability to deal with people in stressful situations
•Ability to fluently speak/comprehend Spanish and English
•Strong computer proficiency



Medical Record Coders to review and abstract for inpatient, Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery and Emergency Room records to select appropriate codes for principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures according to Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set guidelines.
•Determine proper codes to be used for each diagnosis and procedure.
•Sequence the diagnoses and procedures according to established criteria.
•Use coding guidelines in order to meet coding and billing requirements
We require minimum High School Diploma and completion of a NYS registered program of instruction in medical coding and One year of satisfactory clerical experience in a hospital, medical practice, or health-related institution;


High School Diploma and two years of satisfactory clerical experience in a hospital, medical practice, or health-related institution, including one year of medical records coding experience: OR
Current certification as RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or CCA (Certified Coding Associate).

You must have knowledge of
•Medical Terminology
•Medical Coding Systems
•Medical Records Departmental Systems
•Governmental and accrediting agency regulations pertaining to coding

And the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
