Guy T. Courbois

Guy Courbois was appointed VP for Operations in June 2006, and is responsible for the on-going operation of the hospital and its subsidiaries. Mr. Courbois reviews and develops operational processes, provides analytical support and ensures that departments are operating effectively and efficiently and are meeting their stated mission, goals and objectives.

Prior to his appointment as the VP for Operations, Mr. Courbois was Director of Operations for Nassau County, New York from 2002 to 2006. As Director of Operations, he oversaw the operation of 50 County Departments and provided analytical support to every department through his staff. Mr. Courbois developed innovative programs, including County Stat, which is a program specifically designed to provide in-depth analysis of operations and ensure follow-through, leadership and resolution of issues confronted by the departments of the County.

In January 2002, Mr. Courbois accepted the position of Deputy Director for the Budget for Nassau County, functioning as Chief Financial Officer for the Public Safety vertical, which has 10 departments including the Police Department and Corrections Department. As Deputy Director of Budget, Mr. Courbois was directly involved in the development and implementation of the widely acclaimed fiscal turnaround.

After having earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Hofstra University in 1988, Mr. Courbois held varied positions dealing with budget and management. He was a Senior Policy Analyst for the New York City Office of Management and Budget from 1992 – 1994 and Director of Finance at the Rockefeller University in New York City for several years. Prior to joining Nassau County, Mr. Courbois served as Director of Operations for Burchman, Terrio and Quist, LLC, which is a for-profit management services organization located in Manhattan specializing in restructuring and developing fiscal and management strategy for non-profit organizations serving special needs populations in New York City.

Mr. Courbois was born in Freeport and grew up on Long Island where he and his wife Sofia are raising their sons, Arturo and Guy. He earned a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction from Hofstra University.
