Mr. Ajmal has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare technology management. Before joining Nassau University Medical Center. Mr. Ajmal briefly served as the Chief Technology officer at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Central Brooklyn, where he was assisting the leadership in defining the technology vision staff development and process improvement. Prior to Brooklyn Hospital Mr. Ajmal served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn. He also served in leadership roles at Barnert Hospital and Stonybrook University Hospital.
Mr. Ajmal has an in-depth knowledge of most Hospital Clinical Information Systems (HCIS), as well as hands-on experience with standard clinical, financial and ancillary systems utilized in healthcare. In most of his leadership roles, he managed the Telecommunication and BioMedical Engineering departments in addition to the Information Technology department. This allowed him to find synergies within these departments, and significantly improve support processes. He has a strong record of implementing a cost-effective and robust information technology infrastructure while creating value for the organization. Under his leadership, Interfaith Medical Center achieved an HIMSS Stage 6 designation which only 12.5% of the hospitals achieved throughout the United States and only 34 in New York State.
Mr. Ajmal received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electric and Computer Engineering from State University of New York. He earned his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from State University of New York and an Executive Masters degree in Management Information Systems from Columbia University in New York.
Mr. Ajmal lives on Long Island with his wife a physician and their three children.
